Get in your comfy pants, grab a soft throw blanket, and a cute cup of tea (or wine...), feel welcome to simply enjoy a quick moment to yourself. You earned it!
Let's imagine all the opportunities life has waiting to offer you and your loved ones, not only for photographs but for experiences, but hold on, let's do more than imagine, let's focus on what is realistic and possible. I've always been a daydreamer so thinking up experiences comes easy for me. I love coming up with a vision (Pinterest is my happy space) and then finding ways to create an experience that works within a budget and manner that is suitable for what I am planning. I've done this for many small sessions over the years for myself and others, and I have been honored to be part of planning timelines with brides and grooms, but It wasn't till I was planning, preparing, and seeing my dream weddings come to life in Mexico, April 2023, that I really saw the magic time and effort can bring. I also noticed how little guidance there is out there for people who aren't part of this industry trying to plan a wedding or session. My goal for this blog is to provide a home of inspiration so you have a little bit more of a foundation when it comes to planning your dream wedding or deciding on the perfect outfits for a session and so on. Nobody in this world has the same unique attributes or a love story like you have and I believe a way I can serve you and myself is by shifting the focus on all the wonderful potential there is, locally, and farther away. I enjoyed the planning process and piecing together the beautiful elements of my day. Let me help open up a world of imagination and possibility while also sharing some of my own life experiences along the way.
"Planning for things is stressful, but, perhaps this is "good" stress. Sometimes stress is necessary when accomplishing a big goal and creating a favorite memory. It helps make the outcome more of a treasure and the key to enjoying how things turn out is to simply let yourself. Preparing your mind is just as important as preparing for what you will be doing." -Katrina B
PLAN
It's hard to depend on things "just happening", in fact, if you leave things to chance it is more than likely going to result in a stress ball of chaos for you and everybody involved. Having a plan for ANYTHING is essential for setting up a dreamy, successful scenario. Do things go wrong? Absolutely, this you can also plan to expect! But, having a plan can help you navigate and feel more at ease when this happens. I am the type of person who really depends on clear expectations to feel more calm, safe, and ready for the things I might experience in life. When things catch me off guard, I struggle, so planning ahead is the first step for me in creating a good experience. The types of things I hope to cover in this blog about planning will include; the different types of sessions to plan for, different location highlights, the best time of day or the best time in the process of what you are experiencing, how seasons can affect a session, and more.
PREPARE
Being prepared for anything and everything is a great way to feel more relaxed. That is why this is another important topic I would like to cover as a way to serve you! Because let's get real, it is not every day you plan a wedding or a photoshoot of any kind so how are you supposed to know how to prepare? Knowing how to prepare clothing, props, accessories, decorations, and timelines are important and not common knowledge. I can help not only with the surface preparations but also with the mental preparation.
EXPERIENCE
Your experience with Katrina B co. Photography is very important to me and so is our relationship, so expect blogs that share who I am, what I value, and some of my own personal experiences. Not only do I hope these will be great stepping stones to getting to know me, (the person behind the camera) but as a bonus, I hope you can pick up on tips and resources I find and learn along the way. Life is meant to be lived and we are all learning as we go so take a big breath, reward effort and remember, everything will be OK.
SEE YOU SOON!
To end my introduction and intentions for this space I would just like to say, you matter! You matter to me and so many others who surround you. Never forget that you have a beautiful story to tell and the things you imagine are just a plan, preparations, and experience away. I am so glad you are here! I hope this is the start of a special relationship. Your support means the world to me!
Namaste,
Katrina B
